About this off-road route
The Paiute is one of the largest connected ATV trail systems in the United States, roughly 275 miles of main loop with hundreds of miles of spurs off it, and Marysvale is the traditional base town. This segment climbs from the valley up onto Big John Flat, high in the Tushar Mountains, then works south toward Circleville. The elevation range is what makes it unusual: you can leave sagebrush at 6,000 feet and be in alpine meadow above 10,000 in the same morning.

Best time to go
June through October at elevation. The high sections hold snow into early summer.

Before you go
Know before you go
- Utah requires OHV registration and, for visitors, a non-resident OHV permit.
- The high country is exposed and afternoon thunderstorms are routine in midsummer.
- Fuel range matters. Plan on Marysvale or Circleville, not the trail.
