Off Road Hubs vs onX Offroad and Gaia GPS
Yes. Our off-road maps, GPS track recording, and public-land boundaries are free, with no subscription. Downloadable offline maps are the one gap, covered below.
Downloadable offline maps are the one thing we do not have yet, and we would rather say so than let you find out at the trailhead. The topo and satellite maps are free to use on the web and in the app without an account, and GPS track recording keeps running with no bars at all and syncs when you are back in range. If you need a downloaded area to draw with zero signal today, onX and Gaia still do that and we do not. It is on the way.
The maps are built on free public data, like BLM and Forest Service land and road layers, so there is no data license to pass on. The businesses listed here pay for their own pages, bookings and app, and that pays for the free tools.
