Coalmont OHV Park

Coalmont OHV Park sits on 1,347 acres on the South Cumberland Plateau near Tracy City in Grundy County, Tennessee, strategically positioned halfway between Nashville and Chattanooga off I-24, which makes it the most highway-accessible major OHV park on the Cumberland Plateau for both city markets. The geographic location is functionally important: Grundy County is a 2-hour drive from Nashville and 45 minutes from Chattanooga, enabling day trips from the former and overnight trips that leverage the proximity to both. The terrain reflects the Cumberland Plateau's geology: wooded slopes, sandstone outcrops, and the drainage systems flowing off the plateau into the surrounding valley country, diverse enough to provide 40+ miles of trail across varied difficulty ratings. The park's vehicle policy is unusually inclusive: motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, registered SUVs and Jeeps, and unregistered 4x4s and dune buggies are all permitted on the appropriate route designations, making Coalmont viable for mixed groups where some members ride ATVs and others arrive in a capable 4x4. Admission structure is $5 entry plus $20 per-rider permit; annual passes are $110. On-site camping includes tent sites at $15/night and full RV hookup sites at $35–40/night.
