Tall Pines ATV Park

Tall Pines ATV Park

Tall Pines ATV Park is a private off-road riding area in Schoharie County in the Catskill Mountains foothills of central New York, approximately 45 miles southwest of Albany. The park offers guided and self-guided ATV riding on a mix of private farmland, wooded hillsides, and stream corridors that characterize the rolling terrain between the Catskill Plateau and the Mohawk Valley. New York state has limited publicly managed OHV options outside of the Adirondack trail network — Tall Pines fills that gap for the Albany and Capital Region audience, operating as a day-ride destination where visitors can bring their own machines or rent equipment on-site. Trail character spans open field loops that give beginners controlled, low-pressure practice terrain to wooded hillside routes with more elevation change and technical sections. The park's private-land model allows for amenity development that public areas cannot provide: a clubhouse, restrooms, camping hookups for overnight stays, and a fueling station are part of the visitor infrastructure. ATVs and UTVs of most sizes are permitted; the private setting means the operator can adjust width and class restrictions seasonally based on trail conditions. Reservations are recommended for weekends; walk-ins are accommodated on a space-available basis. Tall Pines is one of the few ATV destinations within practical driving distance of the Albany-Schenectady-Troy metro area, giving it a loyal repeat-visitor base from the densely populated I-87 and I-90 corridors. Check the park website for current rates, reservation requirements, and seasonal dates.
